LEVITATION returned once again to downtown Austin, Texas on Halloween weekend 2022, with over 30 shows spread across 10 venues.
For over a decade now, LEVITATION has delivered lineups that span psych, punk, indie, metal, darkwave and electronic music – helping carry the spirit of 1960’s sonic experimentation into modern times. It’s a beloved record collection manifested into a 4 day weekend, with lineups that span continents and generations: a heady amalgamation of vintage gear, immersive light shows and visuals, buzzing amps, moody synths, leather jackets, and good times.
The genre-spanning lineup included THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD (performing two nights), event founders THE BLACK ANGELS, and psych-punk warriors OSEES powering through four nights of performances.
Other highlights included OS MUTANTES, W.I.T.C.H., MOON DUO, L7, GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR, COLD CAVE, PROTOMARTYR, LA FEMME, PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS, SHE PAST AWAY, AUTOMATIC, SUNFLOWER BEAN, along with many more.
