A limited colored-vinyl pressing of Bikini Kill’s Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah EP, brought in through Midheaven / Bikini Kill Records as a Levitation-exclusive stock. 30 copies, hand-carried into the shop.
Originally released in 1993 as the Bikini Kill side of their split record with UK’s Huggy Bear, Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah was recorded in the band’s Washington, DC basement practice space on a four-track reel-to-reel by Tim Green (Nation of Ulysses) at The Embassy. It was the first Bikini Kill release to feature the anthem ‘Rebel Girl.’ Side B now features seven previously unreleased Bikini Kill tracks drawn from era-appropriate live shows and practice tapes.
Bikini Kill — Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail, Billy Karren, Kathi Wilcox — existed from 1990 to 1997 out of Olympia, WA and Washington, DC. They’re credited with instigating the Riot Grrrl movement via political lyrics, zines, and confrontational live shows. This is their bloodline on wax.
