Funkadelic
Free Your Mind... And Your Ass Will Follow
Funkadelic's second album landed in 1970, only months behind the debut, and the story goes that most of it came out of one marathon session. The band tightened the songwriting without giving up an inch of the exploratory jamming, and it is the record where Bernie Worrell officially arrives on keys. It reached No. 92 on the Billboard pop chart and still sounds like a transmission from somewhere else.
Part of Org Music's Westbound Records reissue series. This pressing is fully analog, cut direct from tape to lathe by Dave Gardner at DSG Mastering, from original master tapes that Gardner and restoration specialist Catherine Vericolli archived at 54 Sound Studios in Ferndale, Michigan with in-house engineer Nick King. Housed in a gatefold jacket.
