13 FROM THE 13TH FLOOR:
Catharsis - 32 mars
Excellent French Psych/Prog from 1972.
9th Street Market - I'm a Baby
60’s Garage Gold from Michigan on the Fenton Label.
Sal Davis - Quaboos
Psychedelic Grooves from Kenya that make you want to dance.
llous & Decuyper - L'élu
A great track for the morning or feeling easy. The album was recorded slowly over a year at Vogue studios in France with Jacques Dutronc’s backing band.
BLO - Time to Face the Sun
Incredible Psych Funk rhythms from Nigeria circa 1973.
Pretty - Mustache In Your Face
This was allegedly recorded in a cave in Missouri circa 1969. Special thanks to Numero Group for releasing such amazing lost gems!
The Grass Roots - Feelings
My favorite song by this group. You can hear a hint of The Rolling Stones “Under My Thumb.” Arthur Lee and Love actually had the name “Grass Roots” first but they had to change it as a result of this group being more popular at the time.
Franco Micalizzi, Emanuelle Arsan - Laure (Theme Song)
Excellent French soundtrack Psychedelia circa 1975.
Parada 5 - Ando Meio Perdido Por Ai
A really cool 60’s Garage track from Brazil.
Grapefruit - Another Game
A catchy track from this British group that was signed to The Beatles “Apple Records.”
The Master's Apprentices - Undecided
Wild sounds from Australia circa 1967.
Hairy Chapter - There's a Kind of Nothing
Heavy Acid Psych from Germany circa 1971, produced by the legendary Dieter Dirks (Ash Ra Tempel, Cosmic Jokers, Tangerine Dream, Popol Vuh and many others..).
Faust - It's A Rainy Day Sunshine Girl
Tribal and tranced out track by these Kraut Rock legends circa 1972.
Thanks for listening. See you next time!
