Renowned Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg musician and author Leanne Betasamosake Simpson returns with Live Like The Sky, the highly anticipated follow up to her Polaris Music Prize short-listed album Theory Of Ice (2021). Born in struggle, and written in response to a world engulfed in wild-fire smoke, fascism, colonialism, and hetero-patriarchy, the album draws surprising influence from formative alternative musics (The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode) in combination with a vital Anishinaabe worldview to create a fugitive space of re-worlding and affirmation.
