Danny Lee Blackwell's psych-soul project, formed in Seattle in 2009 and now based in Los Angeles. A mainstay of Austin Psych Fest since 2011, Night Beats fuse 60s R&B, garage rock and dub into a sound that's at once vintage and otherworldly. Albums like Sonic Bloom, Who Sold My Generation and Outlaw R&B continue Blackwell's investigation of soul music's psychedelic underbelly.
