13 FROM THE 13TH FLOOR:
Brainticket - Black Sand
A fantastic 60’s European outfit that was inspired by jazz, psychedelia and krautrock. This album came with a warning label that insisted you should "only listen once a day to this record. Your brain might be destroyed,” which is purported to have led to the album being banned in several countries.
Camilo Sesto - To Be a Man
Just killer! Early 70’s Spanish psyche that my good friend Dj Maicol Sonosphere turned me onto recently.
We The People - You Burn Me Up and Down
Fuzz heavy garage from the USA. Love this!
Kak - Everything's Changing
The San Francisco sound circa 1969.
The Easybeats - I'II Make You Happy
An Australian banger ! This one features George Young ; the older brother to Malcom and August who would later form AC/DC.
Jenny Rock - Mal
A great version of this song by the French Canadian Jenny Rock circa 1970.
Michaelangelo - West
A very groovy track from their 1971 album “One Voice Many.”
Mustafa Özkent - Burgak Tarlasi
Some really great 1970’s Turkish action.
The Factory - Path Through The Forest
This track is the epitome of the British Psychedelic scene and it’s one of my all time favorites.
Group 1850 - Zero
Dutch acid-rock from The Hague circa 1968.
The Moving Sidewalks - Flashback
Texas garage from Houston with a young Billy Gibbons on guitar. They later became ZZ-Top.
The Waters - Mother Samwell
Freakbeat from Louisville, Kentucky circa 1969.
William Penn & His Pals - Swami
Raga psyche sounds from some California circa 1966.
Thanks for listening and see you at Levitation in two weeks!
