13 FROM THE 13TH FLOOR:
13th Floor Elevators - Kingdom of Heaven (Is Within You)
Roky and The Elevators channeling within and throughout.
Ty Wagner - I'm a No Count
Anthem from a 60’s garage punk legend!
Eye Q - I Am Selfish
Groovy Zamrock sounds from Zimbabwe.
Fille Qui Mousse - Magic-Bag
The sounds of the mysterious experimental Paris underground.
Spooks - The Spook Walks
A Joe Meek gem from the early 60’s.
The Foggy Notions - Need a Little Lovin'
Garage gold from Chicago circa 1966.
The Deviants - I'm Coming Home
From their debut album 'Ptooff!', released on their own label by mail order in 1968. 100% wild!
Le Orme - Ad Gloriam
A taste of great psychedelic music from Italy’s Le Orme.
The United States of America - Love Song for the Dead Che
A very wonderful song featuring the beautiful voice of Dorothy Moskowitz.
Los Brincos - Jenny, la Genio
Some psychedelic pop from their 1970 album 'Mundo, Demonio, Carne.'
Sandro Brugnolini - Megaterra
Way out 60’s sounds from Italy.
Tomorrow - Strawberry Fields Forever
A great version of this song by Tomorrow featuring Steve Howe of later YES.
The Move - Fields of People
A psychedelic comic book vibe from their second album 'Shazam!' released in 1970. To me, this is the psychedelic predecessor to Spinal Tap with fantastic musicianship. I can’t help myself from laughing when I hear this record but they were apparently very serious when they wrote those songs.
Thanks for listening!
