We’re excited to unveil the lineup for our 12th year, which we plan to release early this summer. Levitation will be held across multiple venues in Austin’s downtown Red River Cultural District and East Side including Stubb’s, Mohawk, Empire, Hotel Vegas, Central Presbyterian Church and more. As shows and events come back to our beloved venues and art spaces, safety procedures will continue to evolve and we will work with our venues and health officials to offer clear guidelines for attendees.
Let’s all do our part to bring back live music stronger than ever. It’s gonna be Halloween weekend, so masks are encouraged regardless :)

AUSTIN, TX (May 18, 2021): LEVITATION returns to downtown Austin, Texas the weekend of October 28-31, 2021. Lineup announcement, tickets and lots more to come early Summer!
The 2021 edition will further expand the sonic spectrum of LEVITATION, curating another genre-spanning lineup for the event's 12th year. LEVITATION will continue to take place in multiple venues across Austin’s downtown Red River Cultural District and East Side including Stubb’s, Mohawk, Empire, Hotel Vegas, Central Presbyterian Church and more.

Founded in 2008 as Austin Psych Fest, by members of The Black Angels and friends, the independent event sparked a movement, inspiring the creation of similar events across the globe. Austin Psych Fest was renamed LEVITATION in honor of Austin's psychedelic rock pioneers The 13th Floor Elevators, who reunited and performed at LEVITATION 2015 for the band's 50th anniversary.
In 2018, LEVITATION returned to its downtown Austin roots - creating a walkable, intimate and community-focused event that showcases the city's world renowned music venues. Following up two massive weekends of sold-out shows in 2018 and 2019, LEVITATION 2021 will bring another epic 4-day weekend of music and art to Austin's diverse Red River District and east side venues and art spaces.
Over the past decade, in addition to the flagship event in Austin, the group has curated LEVITATION events in France, Chicago and Vancouver, along with ongoing events in Austin and special events in Europe and Latin America, plus a huge, diverse annual LEVITATION showcase at SXSW. LEVITATION FRANCE celebrated its 7th year in September 2019, in Angers, FR - the largest event of its kind in Europe, and news on the 2021 edition is coming soon. Since 2010, The Reverberation Appreciation Society record label has released records by key bands in the psych and garage rock scene like Frankie & The Witch Fingers, Night Beats, Holy Wave, Ringo Deathstarr and many more - with new releases on the horizon.
Over the last year throughout the pandemic, LEVITATION has been releasing live performance streams and live albums via LEVITATION Sessions, providing a music lifeline for fans and artists, and also raising funds for non-profits and causes like the National Independent Venue Association, Direct Relief and Red River Cultural District.
